Nysnö (“New Snow”) is a spectacular Scandinavian Christmas quilt that celebrates Nordic folk art in full festive color. At its heart is a stunning printed panel featuring a traditional rosemaling-style Christmas tree — adorned with reindeer, songbirds, ornaments, bows, and pinecones in rich red, green, blue, and gold on white. A narrow hunter green inner border and a red-and-white Nordic stripe frame the panel, leading to a wide border of pieced 8-pointed snowflake star blocks in silver/gray and red. Alternating pieced geometric Christmas trees and stars create a breathtaking tree border, all framed by a colorful Nordic village outer border with houses, reindeer, and trees in red, blue, and navy. Dense free-motion swirl quilting adds heirloom texture throughout, and a soft sage green solid backing completes the piece.
