The Windsong Batik Quilt is a celebration of nature’s changing seasons, masterfully brought together in a complex medallion sampler of exclusively batik fabrics. A luminous ice blue/silver batik background sets the stage for a central medallion surrounded by rings of varied pieced blocks — Bear’s Paw, Ohio Star, flying geese, pinwheels, and diamond units — each showcasing a rich palette of aqua, sage green, warm gold, rust, deep teal, and chocolate brown batiks. Multiple borders frame the design: a taupe/sand batik inner border and a dramatic deep teal floral batik outer border with a pieced zigzag inner edge. Dense free-motion quilting — feathers, swirls, and pebbles — adds heirloom-quality texture throughout. The deep navy floral batik backing is as stunning as the front.
